Group Names On Facebook - Facebook is really becoming more versatile as time passes, rather surprisingly. I believe the only thing you certainly can't change, the only thing that's just locked into location as soon as you pick it, is a shortened URL shortcut.

Luckily the group name isn't really in that little category of permanent names, and it's not entirely obvious how to alter it, however it can be done.

To begin, go to your group page on Facebook but don't click on "Edit Settings" since it ain't what you desire. Instead look down the best side of the page. About a 3rd of the way down you'll see these choices:.

Click on "Edit Group" and you'll see a lots of various choices that you can modify, most importantly the group name:.

Let's zoom in a bit on that so you can see what it looks like:.

To alter your Facebook group name, just click in the text box that has the current name and usage ERASE, arrows and much like alter the name to one that's better suited. For this presentation, I changed the group name from "Front Variety Blogger Meetup: The Facebook Group" to simply "Front Variety Blogger Meetup".

When you've set it properly, click on "Conserve" at the bottom of the window and.

Done. Not too hard once you understand where to click.

Confusingly, though, the page that consists of the notification of the change being accepted still has the old name showed:.

No worries. That's just a caching problem: click "Back to Group" and we see the appropriate name:.

Now we're done and it's validated.
I must discuss that everyone in the group will see an upgrade notification that the name has been changed, however I cannot think of that's a concern:.
