To tape-record your very own GIF on Facebook, open the app and tap on the cam in the top left corner of the Facebook app or by swiping right from News Feed.
Along the top of the screen are three tabs: Regular, GIF and Text. Typical lets you take images and record videos in the standard way. Text produces the colourful text backgrounds seen littering news feeds, and GIF lets you tape-record a three-second clip. All the normal Snapchat-style features are then available to add, consisting of frames, emoji, text and effects.
